โHere, Iโm building out the world I want to live in. And while itโs somewhat aspirational, Iโm finding that the more I build it here with you, the more I live it in my everyday life: I get out into the woods more often, wandering, taking photos and grabbing field recordings; I take long, phone-free walks; I unplug more regularly; I fill my days more and more with things that fill my cup.โ - Matt@FogChaser
Thank you ! These words have medicine in them. Gandhiโs words of โbe the change you want to see in the worldโ have not been the easy path (for me at least). As someone who is experimenting and taking a lot of time figuring out how to do this for myself - it is great to hear and see others who keep at it.

I think the calmness you experience comes through in your work, which benefits everyone you reach. Well done, thank you, and congratulations ๐ฅณ
Unfortunately missed this when it first came out but congrats on one year! I can say truthfully that your newsletter is different from anything else on substack. Looking forward to hearing what you come up with in the future.
Happy b-day! Toot! Toot! ๐ฅณ Congratulations on building such magical and calming space, Matt ๐โจ๐ถ. So glad and grateful to have met you here on Substack. I'm really excited to see what year 2 brings for FC!
Thank you, Stygi! Likewise! I'm so grateful that we met, and so thankful for your support over the last year. You've been such a gracious and attentive listener, and that really means so much.
Congrats on the one year. (Sometimes I wish I'd chosen a once a month pacing! You smart.) Anyway, you asked which was a favorite song from this Volume. It was Unmoored, but then you had to knock it off the top step with Alluvial. That one makes me want to potter about in the house with socks on, moving knick knacks to different shelves while I wait for a kettle to boil so I can brew a pot of tea. That probably makes no sense, but that's me in a nutshell. Keep up the good work, here's to another year, and thanks for the ear food. - J
You know, that description actually makes perfect sense to me โ the songs are clearly working on you as intended. I'm so glad that our paths have crossed here โ I always look forward to your brilliant, ingenious, and hilarious writing on The Stream. Thank you for taking the time to tune in to these Fog Chaser songs.
Happy anniversary! Congratulations on marking Year 1 in the books, and thank you for sharing your music/art with the world. I'm really happy we've been able to connect through Substack.
Happy first birthday! You write about your music and photography, both of which are beautiful, but you donโt mention your writing, which I think brings everything together each month. And this especially, was an excellent piece of writing. Thank you for sharing a little of your past, and hereโs to the future!
Well, shoot. Thank you so much, Lail. That really means a lot, especially coming from you! I'm very grateful for your time, and so glad we got to connect here. I love your music and your writing!
Thanks for your inspirational and brave sharing of your story, Matt! I admit I don't use quiet time very effectively (or anything close to regularly), but I DO take the time to breathe and slow down when your posts hit my inbox!
I think you've helped me do that more often, though, and I've discovered lengthy instrumental bossa nova and light jazz channels on YouTube that I put on in the background when I write. Baby steps for a calmer me!
I also appreciate your deft leadership in our Zoom-y meetings! You're (among other things), quite a competent facilitator! Congrats on Year One, Matt, and all the best for a rockin'....oops, I mean....peaceful and mellow Year Two!๐โ๐
Haha, well, I'm glad that these posts can help you pause, even if for only a moment โ hopefully while you're filling your bottomless cup over at the Panera VIP lounge. Appreciate all your support and contributions here and on the zooms. Looking forward to our continued conversations!
Iโm new here and so looking forward to learning/feeling/experiencing more of your world. From one PNWesterner to another.๐ฒ

Thank you Cole โ that really means a lot. Appreciate your support!
I just found this today, but already added it to my RSS reader, your beats strike a really nice balance between etherial and natural. Love the work.
Very cool, thanks so much for listening.

What's the password to get in on one of these Zoom meetings?
Haha, no password! Just a holdover from our time together in Substack Go, way back when. We'll send you some info!
You are an inspiration!!! Thank you
Very kind, thank you!
