Wow, I am so happy I came across your publication. Subscribed! I've listened to a number of pieces already, just beautiful, thank you for all the work you put into this. I also create music based on images/works of art at my Substack, Polyester City, check it out if you have a moment. Anyway, thanks again for the great art, I am rushing to my settings to add you as one of my recommendations!
I've been very anxious lately and listening to this piece really helped soothe and lift my mood so thank you (and Niamh too) for that! I come from a small town in Malaysia called Ipoh, which is also the hometown of Michelle Yeoh. I've lived in Singapore for the past 7 years but am back in Ipoh trying to find some peace and sense of purpose.
Thank you, Rachel! I'm sorry you've been feeling anxious lately, but so glad that this piece could help in some way. Pushing back against my own anxieties is a big part of why I write these songs. Ipoh looks like a magical place — I hope you can find the peace and purpose you're looking for. Sometimes a change of scenery is exactly what is needed. Thank you so much for being here.
Listening from Manchester, UK. I adore the Lakes. One of my favourite places - I’m very fortunate to live so close to them! Equally fond of the Peak District which is even closer to where I am!
Really loved this track. Thank you for your beautiful work.❤️
Thank you beautiful piece in this edition and i took the time to listen to daydream again as it’s top of mind for you. I love the calm yet also tropical energy that the song has. Keep it going.
Fantastic work, Matt! Thank you for the shout out/signal boost. Green fields/spring will have to wait up here in WI; we celebrated spring with just over a foot of snow this weekend.
Stroud looks like a charming little place! I’d love to spend more time exploring those areas someday. Is that technically considered part of the Cotswolds?
Thank you, LA. I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through a difficult time right now. I'm very grateful that you're here. Wishing you all the best, and I hope that whatever you're going through eases soon. I think Alberta is the only province I haven't been to, but I would love to visit Calgary and go see Banff. Someday!
Wonderful Matt. Great article, spot on on his comments about your compositions. This one was very close to home, I live in ireland I spend at least 6 weeks every year retreating in the Lake District and I listen to a lot of Arco Part. And there is a reference to bees on the poem. I am emerald in The Beehive’s Secret a series if books I am writing for children. Thank you. Wonderful.
6 weeks! That's a dream, Xanda. And "retreating" is the right word for it. Is there any particular part of the Lake District you prefer when you go? (Also, keep your eye on the post — I've sent you something to your address in Dublin).
Ah Matt, thank you so much. I look forward to receive something other than bills in the post. It is wonderful. I have spent a full year at the Lake District, building my connection with my Spiritual teacher. He died last year. The mother centre is in Ulverston and my favourite retreat takes place every year, in January- it relates directly to my practice. I also go for 2 weeks teaching in the Summer and another 2 weeks retreat that may be elsewhere. I have been doing that for 20 years! so I do know Lake District and Wales very well. I used to drive there from Dublin. Now it is cheaper to fly. Weird! Ulverston also houses the Laurel and Hardy museum! Windermere is one of my favourite spots and the National Park of course, glacial lakes, very bright in summer but dark blue water in the winter - monsters could live there! I also love Loch Lamond in Scotland - similar feel to the land. Haven't been in a while, but another favourite place to retreat for me. I meant formal retreats, but you are absolutely right, the trees are ancient and you can feel it. The monastery has 67 acres of forest and beach and a couple of miles away, ring forts, the region is charged up with energy. It is a really amazing place to visit and yes, I do feel lucky that it is just across the way for me. A 45 minutes plane ride and two hour train journey from Manchester or Liverpool.
Wow, amazing. I’m so sorry to hear about your spiritual teacher’s passing, but I’m so glad you’ve been able to explore so much of that beautiful part of the world.
Thank you Matt. He is still here so are his teachings. A beautiful part of the world it is. I’ll check out your Irish friend musician. Hope you visit is soon. Beautiful here too. Glendalough would be a great place of inspiration for you.
This is another lovely piece. The strings are a wonderful addition. Reading about Ireland and the UK has me thinking about how much I want to visit there again.
Ah, David. Thank you so much for your kind words. I keep forgetting you're right up the road from me! I love Vancouver. I've been a number of times but it's been a while. Might be time for a train ride north. If you ever find yourself in Oregon, let me know. Would love to get together.
I'm in Monterey, California - on the coast, serenaded by seagulls and barking seals.. Thanks for the beautiful music!
I love Monterey! That whole area is so magical - thanks for listening!

Hey Peter, thanks so much for the kind note! Just subscribed to your newsletter — looks really great. Can't wait to dig in a bit.
Hey Matt, I’m listening from Oklahoma City. I love what you’re doing here! Meditation 019 is very beautiful.
Thank you David! Much appreciated!

Thank you so much Elliott 🙏
Oh, how lovely, Matt. Perhaps now I can say I’ve been to Ireland, if only through your notes and my imagination. (Coming from Alberta, Canada)
Thank you, Erin - that means a lot coming from you. I’m always transported by your work!
Appreciate that, Matt. You've made my day!
Hi I've sent you an email. Not sure if you've seen it yet.
Fantastic work, Matt! Thank you for the shout out/signal boost. Green fields/spring will have to wait up here in WI; we celebrated spring with just over a foot of snow this weekend.
Thanks, Kevin! And dang - that is no joke. Hope you’re holding up alright out there - warmer days are coming soon!
Here from Stroud, UK 😀

Capital for the Cotswolds! It's the right at in the centre of all 5 Valleys :D.
Banff and the Canadian Rockies are spectacular and could be a great inspiration for a composer :)
Oh, I can imagine. Will definitely make it happen one of these days :)
No, thank YOU! we moved here 18 years ago from the Raleigh area. Originally, I'm from Alabama. Your Substack is the best. Please keep it up!
Well, that is verrrry nice of you to say. Thank you :)
Listening from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Thank you for another beautiful piece. This one arrived at a very sad time and provided immeasurable comfort.

Thank you so much — and I know what you mean. Writing about it made me want to return. Remind me where you are in the world?
Listening from Louisiana!
Ah nice! I love Louisiana. Haven’t been in a few years but have made frequent trips to see family in and around New Orleans.
Awesome! I’ve always wanted to visit the Pacific Northwest. Hopefully one day soon
Beautiful Matt. I've listened to this a number of times.
As I was trying to describe to a friend yesterday, your pieces off sound like they are coming from nature itself.
Listening from Vancouver, Canada.
Ah, David. Thank you so much for your kind words. I keep forgetting you're right up the road from me! I love Vancouver. I've been a number of times but it's been a while. Might be time for a train ride north. If you ever find yourself in Oregon, let me know. Would love to get together.
Anytime, Matt. We've got a sofa-bed. Just give me a shout.
I'd love that too. We've been talking about a summer trip out your way. I'll let you know.
Please do!
