It sounds cold and wet and like running water. Refreshing.

I just found you and I love the format of your newsletter. I've been thinking a lot about how there needs to be a platform between bandcamp and substack. Basically a substack for music where every song comes with multimedia and songwriting proceess. This type of post is exactly what I imagine.

Thanks so much, Will — it's really nice of you to say so. I was just going through your posts as well and really like how you're approaching it, too!

Mt. Hood, what a magical place. I feel lucky to have visited once.

It really is — there's so much to discover, I just keep going back. Glad you had the chance to visit — what part of the world are you in? Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment!

I'm happy to support! :) And, I'm in Nyc at the moment. In parts, a different sort of magic!

Immediately played a second time. There's a certain vibe from this one I can't quite put my finger on, but I love it. It's almost as though it reminds me of something from a game soundtrack, but I'm not sure what. Maybe a Stardew Valley vibe, as the season changes. The shift into the moment when the drums come in is so so good.

Advanced congrats on the Oblivion soundtrack release!

Also, what a line: "But mostly we’re forgetting we’re dead stars too, my mouth is full

of dust and I wish to reclaim the rising"

Beautiful song and a beautiful poem. I read your post after I listened to the track and you nailed it musically. What you described is what I saw and felt as I listened.

This brought to mind all the life and exploration of roots and mycelium and a universe of bugs in the soil. Thank you ❤️

Having lived in Oregon, I can attest the melt and blooms are a sight to behold. This piece is the perfect accompaniment—anticipative, celebratory.

Thank you, Al — that was exactly the balance I was hoping for. Thank you for taking the time to listen.

As always, stunning. The Pacific Northwest is the area of the US that I’ve explored the least. A trip will be planned in the near future.

I’m excited to listen to Oblivion!

Thank you so much, Jill — I really appreciate you listening. I probably missed this somewhere along the way — I know you're in the UK now, but where in the states are you from?

Born in upstate New York but haven’t lived there since I was 12. As an adult, my States-living resume is all West Coast: eastern Sierras in California and one very strange summer in Seattle… your neck of the woods, I believe?

Yes, definitely my neck of the woods — I lived in Seattle for about 5 years back around 2007ish, now in Portland. From AZ originally. Now I'm very curious what made your Seattle experience a 'very strange summer' for you — maybe a topic for a future Life Litter post?!

Ha my strange summer was 2007! Don’t suppose you were in Roosevelt?? We might’ve passed on the street. It was mostly strange bc I was sleeping on the floor of an arts and crafts bungalow that I was renovating for the parents of my boyfriend at the time… a lot of scraping paint and caulking walls and petty arguments. Fun times!

No wayyyyy - I am not kidding, I was at 66th/Roosevelt at the time. There's no way we didn't pass on the street! And yeah, that situation does sound pretty strange, and not all that great tbh haha
